Course Introduction
This course is designed for students with no prior harp experience and is suitable for students of all ages. The instructor will tailor the learning content and pace to each student, including playing posture, fingering, basic sight-reading, and music theory, ensuring students master correct playing techniques while cultivating their interest in learning. The instructor will also introduce different types of harps (different sizes, numbers of strings) to give students a deeper understanding of this instrument. Group lessons will teach ensemble techniques, enhancing the learning experience; individual lessons will also allow students to practice ensemble playing with the instructor. The course uses a simple teaching method, and upon completion, students will be able to play simple folk songs or anime music (e.g., Birthday Song, Ode to Joy, the theme song from "Spirited Away").
Course Features
- Students can choose their own class times and have a make-up class system, making it more flexible than regular class-based courses.
- Individual or small group classes allow instructors to better tailor their teaching to individual needs and address students' questions.
- The instructor can adjust the learning pace to suit the student's learning background. For example, if a student already knows how to play other instruments, the instructor can appropriately accelerate the teaching pace.
